Your remote team in one pixel-art office, placed by the time tracker they already run: desks, focus, meetings, breaks. Voice, video, client passes. No stealth mode.
The virtual office that fills itself
RealHours turns the time tracker your team already runs into a live 2D pixel-art office. The desktop agent places everyone automatically:
- Clocked in — at their own desk
- 30+ minutes in a deep-work app — focus mode, knocks are held
- In a meeting — in the meeting room
- On a break — in the chai corner (the reason stays private)
- Clocked out — walks home through reception
What the office does
- Live presence and proximity chat
- Peer-to-peer voice, video and screen share
- Protected focus, knocks, raise a hand, follow
- Your own desk with a nameplate and today's note
- Live chess, table tennis and trivia; all-hands from the stage
- A field-team room with geofenced check-ins
- Client visitor passes for staffing firms and agencies
Tracking without the creepiness
Time tracking, activity, app usage, screenshots, reports, HR, attendance, leave, payroll and client invoicing, by plan. Glass-box: employees see what managers see. Break reasons are private on every plan. Keystroke counts, never content. No stealth mode.
Platforms
Windows desktop app, the web app in any modern browser, and phones by installing the web app from Chrome or Safari ("Add to Home Screen").
Frequently asked questions
Does my team have to remember to open the office?
No. The RealHours desktop agent people already run for time tracking places them: clock in and you are at your desk, join a call and you are in the meeting room, take a break and you are in the chai corner, clock out and you walk home. Colleagues stay at their desks even with the office window closed, and a knock arrives as a desktop notification.
Is this surveillance with extra steps?
No. There is no stealth mode — the agent is visible while it runs, and every employee sees the same record about themselves that their manager sees. The office only ever receives a status word (available, meeting, break or away): never window titles, apps or URLs. Break reasons are private on every plan, keystrokes are counted but their content is never recorded, and screenshots are blurred in the office and every view of them is logged.
What can a client see with a visitor pass?
Only the team they pay for, live at their desks, with their status and today's note. Never apps, screens, break reasons or your internal chat — and the pass is yours to revoke.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC” when I install. Is that safe?
The installer is not code-signed yet, so Microsoft SmartScreen warns about it until the certificate is in place. Check the SHA-256 shown on the Download page, then choose “More info” and “Run anyway”. IT teams can deploy the MSI through Intune or Group Policy instead, which avoids the prompt.
Do voice and video go through your servers?
No. Calls connect peer-to-peer between the people in earshot, and are encrypted the way every browser call is. Only when a strict firewall blocks a direct connection is the encrypted stream relayed, and it is never recorded.
Which devices does it run on?
The tracking agent is a Windows desktop app. The office and dashboard run in any modern browser, and on phones you install the web app from Chrome (Android) or Safari (iPhone) with “Add to Home Screen” — no app store needed.
Where does the data live, and can we delete it?
In RealHours’ hosted database, encrypted in transit and at rest. Screenshots, location and keystroke counts are pruned automatically on a per-plan clock, and you can request full deletion of your organisation’s data at any time.
How does billing count seats, and can we cancel anytime?
You are billed for monitored people only — admin, manager and client viewer seats are free. Cancel whenever you like: export your data first (CSV export is built in), and a lapsed account falls back to the Free plan with nothing deleted.
